CeeDee Lamb not reporting to Cowboys off-season program, report says

Lamb is heading into the fifth year of his rookie deal and is scheduled to make $17.991 million for the 2024 season.

DALLAS — Cowboys star receiver CeeDee Lamb reportedly wasn't expected to attend the team's voluntary off-season program that was starting Monday, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

Schefter reported that Lamb is awaiting a new contract and won't be attending the workouts.

Lamb is heading into the fifth year of his rookie deal and is scheduled to make $17.991 million for the 2024 season. That would mark a significant bump in pay from Lamb's 2023 salary of around $2.5 million, according to Spotrac, which tracks NFL player salaries. But it's also been expected that the Cowboys will try to hammer out a new contract for Lamb, who is coming off the best year of his career.

In 2023, Lamb caught 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns, earning first-team All-Pro honors for the first time and Pro Bowl honors for a third time. He also rushed for a pair of scores for the 12-win Cowboys, who lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Green Bay Packers.

The Cowboys have also been rumored to be exploring new contracts for quarterback Dak Prescott, who will hit free agency after next season, and potentially for star linebacker Micah Parson, who has two more seasons left on his rookie deal.

Last month, the Cowboys slightly reduced Prescott's massive salary cap hit by reworking his contract going into the final year of the deal, a person with knowledge of the move told the Associated Press.

A $5 million roster bonus was converted into a signing bonus to reduce the 2024 cap hit by $4 million, to about $55 million, the AP reported.
