FORT WORTH, Texas — Hailey van Lith, former LSU and Louisville guard, told the Associated Press she still hasn't signed anywhere yet, despite reports from college basketball reporter Talia Goodman that she is transferring to TCU.

Goodman tweeted the news of van Lith's potential transfer Thursday morning. A TCU spokesperson gave WFAA the following statement regarding the reports:

"Hailey took an official visit on Friday but has not signed with TCU. I cannot comment further at this time."

“I did take a visit to TCU and am very interested in them, but I took visits to other schools and was very interested in them, too,” she told The Associated Press. “I haven't made an official commitment, but I'm very close. The ink has not touched the paper for any school.”

Van Lith is entering her fifth and final collegiate season after playing three years at Louisville and one year at LSU. The grad transfer guard announced she would be entering the portal earlier this month.

TCU's women's basketball team started out red hot in 2023, propelling to a 14-0 start and a top 25 ranking before injuries plagued the team, leading to a call out for walk-ons, and the team lost 11 of its next 12 games (two via forfeit). The team's two stars, Sedona Prince and Madison Conner, are set to return for the 2024 season

In her junior season for Louisville, van Lith averaged 19.7 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game and 3.6 assists per game. In her lone season at LSU, van Lith averaged 11.6 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game and 3.6 assists per game.

TCU finished the 2023 season 21-12 in the first year of head coach Mark Campbell's tenure.

Haley Cavinder, who has transferred to TCU before the 2023 season, announced on social media she was transferring back to Miami to join her twin sister, Hanna Cavinder, who came out of retirement for a final season with the Hurricanes.
