TCU Football disses The CW and the ACC ahead of game with SMU in hilarious SportsCenter-inspired video

Hey now -- those were great shows, weren't they?

FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU Football isn't too fond of having to play one of the final "Iron Skillet" games with SMU on The CW, and they are letting everyone know it.

On Friday morning, the TCU Football account on X (formerly Twitter) posted a hilarious SportsCenter-inspired video to poke fun at the network.

In the video, a TCU player in full uniform is seen attempting to make a phone call, but it plays an automated voice message asking him to hold -- and instead of your typical elevator music, "I don't want to wait" by Paula Cole starts playing.

While this may go over the heads of younger generations, many people who grew up watching the teen drama series "Dawson's Creek" know that song played at the beginning of each episode. And, it used to run on The WB, which has since turned into The CW.

To make it even funnier, the subhead on the video is labeled "One Treefrog Hill" as a play on the show "One Tree Hill," which -- you guessed it, also ran on The CW.

At the end of the video, text appears on the screen saying "This is The CW Unfortunately," followed by "Thanks ACC."

The diss has been received relatively well as many are applauding the Horned Frogs for their creativity. However, many are also defending the game broadcast on The CW, saying it is free and available to all.

The CW responded to the video with a GIF of Michigan J. Frog, which is an animated cartoon character created by Warner Bros. -- one of the network's founding owners.

Saturday's Iron Skillet Battle is the second to last for the foreseeable future and it's all set to kick off at 4 p.m. on The CW.
