DALLAS — SMU Football reached a new milestone Tuesday night, climbing to No. 9 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. This marks the highest ranking in program history.
The Mustangs made a significant four-spot jump from last week when they were ranked No. 13. This leap was also the biggest one the program has made in a single week.
This marks the second consecutive week SMU has risen in the CFP rankings, which further solidifies its position as a strong contender in the post-season race.
The Mustangs have already clinched a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship game, however, they still must handle business against a feisty Cal team to close out the regular season.
The Ponies take on the Golden Bears on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
