DALLAS — It's time for conference championship football, and with an expanded playoff picture this year, teams are fighting for a chance to compete for a national title.
SMU (11-1) is one of the programs in that 12-team playoff picture, and they'll head to Charlotte, North Carolina, to take on Clemson (9-3) in the 2024 ACC Football Championship Game. The kicks off Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. CT and will broadcast on ABC, including WFAA.
This will be the first time SMU and Clemson have played each other on a football field ever, and they'll be competing for the ACC title at Bank of America Stadium.
The Mustangs joined the Atlantic Coast Conference this season and are already competing as the top dogs. SMU has gone undefeated against conference opponents. Their one loss came against a ranked BYU team.
The Tigers on the other hand have long been among the AAC's top competitors. Clemson's 9-3 record is a result of some tough non-conference opponents in South Carolina and Georgia, but they're 7-1 against AAC teams, suffering one loss to Louisville (8-4).
Here's a look at the cheapest ticket prices for the game:
