AUSTIN, Texas — Wednesday was early National Signing Day for the 2024 class, and the Texas Longhorns football team secured signatures from a number of high profile recruits from across the country.
The Longhorns signed 12 prospects currently ranked in the ESPN 300 ratings, as well as adding nine additional incoming freshmen and two highly sought after transfers.
Here are the incoming freshmen who officially signed their letter National Letters of Intent for the Longhorns on Wednesday, with ratings based on the 2024 ESPN 300 list. Players from Texas and their high schools are denoted in bold:
- 5-star edge rusher Colin Simmons (Duncanville)
- 4-star cornerback Kobe Black (Waco Connally)
- 4-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo
- 4-star running back Jerrick Gibson
- 4-star safety Xavier Filsaime (McKinney)
- 4-star tackle Brandon Baker
- 4-star cornerback Jordon Johnson-Russell (IMG Academy/Fort Worth native)
- 4-star wide receiver Freddie Dubose (Smithson Valley/Spring Branch)
- 4-star wide receiver Parker Livingstone (Lovejoy/Lucas)
- 4-star guard Nate Kibble (Humble Atascocita)
- 4-star defensive end Zina Umeozulu (Allen)
- 4-star cornerback Wardell Mack
- 4-star quarterback Trey Owens (Cy-Fair/Cypress)
- 4-star tight end Jordan Washington (Langham Creek/Houston)
- 3-star guard Daniel Cruz (Richland/North Richland Hills)
- 3-star cornerback Santana Wilson
- 3-star running back Christian Clark

The Longhorns also added two prized transfer players, earning commitments from former Houston wide receiver Matthew Golden and former Clemson defensive back Andrew Mukuba.
The new crop of Longhorns will join the Forty Acres in 2024, with the hope that they'll be joining a defending national champion as the 2023 rendition of the Longhorns gets set to participate in the College Football Playoff.
