College GameDay coming to Austin for Texas-Georgia matchup

This will be the pregame show's first visit to Austin this season.

AUSTIN, Texas — Ahead of one of the most anticipated games of the season, ESPN's popular college football pregame show College GameDay is coming to Austin.

The show will be broadcast live from the University of Texas campus on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

It is understandable why Austin was chosen to host ahead of Week 8, as the top-ranked Longhorns get set to host fellow top five squad Georgia on Saturday night at DKR Stadium.

This will be the second time the Longhorns have been featured on the popular pregame show this season, after being featured in Week 2 when they faced Michigan in Ann Arbor. However, this will be the first time Austin's hosted GameDay since the 2022 season, when it hosted twice for Longhorns matchups against Alabama and TCU.

GameDay's return to Austin is another event in what will be a very busy weekend in the Austin area. Saturday's Texas-Georgia matchup coincides with Austin's annual Formula 1 race, which takes place on Sunday at Circuit of the Americas. Leading into Sunday's race will be performances at COTA's Germania Insurance Amphitheater from multi-platinum recording artists Sting (on Oct. 18) and Eminem )on Oct. 19).

Saturday's Texas-Georgia matchup is scheduled to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. and will air on KVUE.
