DALLAS — The NBA Draft runs Wednesday through Thursday this year, and some North Texas talent is expected to go in the first and second rounds.
Here's a look at the four North Texas players who could hear their names called in tonight's draft.
Ron Holland II
Holland is a 6'8", 18-year-old forward from Duncanville, Texas. With the Duncanville High School Panthers, Holland averaged 20.3 points and 10.1 rebounds.
Holland was initially committed to Texas but ended up signing with the G League Ignite, the NBA's development team for young talent out of high school. With the Ignite, he averaged 20.6 points per game and 2.5 steals.
Ja'Kobe Walter
Walter is a 6'5", 19-year-old guard from McKinney, Texas. He attended McKinney High School through his junior year, and averaged 23.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game in his final season there. For his senior year, Walter transferred to Link Academy, a sports prep school in Branson, Missouri.
Walter committed to Baylor University for college and averaged 14.5 points in his freshman season.
Jaylon Tyson
Tyson, a Plano native, is a 21-year-old 6'7" forward. He's a product of John Paull II High School, where averaged 23.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game during the run to the state title as a junior. It was the school's first ever TAPPS class 6A state championship.
Tyson started his collegiate career at the University of Texas, transferred to Texas Tech for his sophomore season, and transferred again to the California Golden Bears for his junior year. He averaged 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while at Cal.
Harrison Ingram
Ingram, a Dallas native, is a 21-year-old 6'7" forward. He's a product of St. Mark's School of Texas, where he averaged 22 points, 13 rebounds and 8.4 assists in his senior season.
Ingram started his college career at Stanford, where he was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. He declared for the 2022 NBA Draft but maintained his college eligibility.
In his junior year, he transferred to the University of North Carolina, where he averaged 12.2 points and 8.8 rebounds.
