DALLAS — As the Dallas Mavericks continue to try and fight their way back into the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, stars like Luka Doncic have had to put on an offensive show.
Doncic is, of course, no stranger to dropping dozens of points in the playoff games. But where does he stand on the all-time list of high-scoring individual playoff game efforts from the Mavs?
What's the most points scored in a game by a Dallas Mavericks player in playoff history?
Well, this one isn't a huge surprise: The player who holds the Mavs' postseason individual game scoring record is none other than the Hall-of-Famer Dirk Nowitzki.
Nowitzki scored 50 points in a playoff game against the Phoenix Suns back on June 1, 2006. He also scored 48 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder on May 17, 2011.
Doncic has come very close to breaking the team's record before, having once scored 46 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on June 6, 2021.
In Game 4 of the 2024 NBA Finals, Doncic was on pace to tie Nowitzki's record, having sored 25 points in the first half. But, given the blowout that the game turned into, he was pulled -- likely for the last time -- late in the third quarter after having put up 29 points total in the game.
As things stand at the time of this writing, however, Doncic will get another go at it during Game 5 on Monday night in Boston.
