Luka turns 25 today! Here's how he stacks up among NBA greats before their 25th birthday

The Mavericks superstar's career stats are at an all-time great pace.

DALLAS — Happy Birthday, Luka!

The Mavericks' Slovenian superstar turned 25 years old on Feb. 28 ... yes only 25. Crazy, right?!

Being drafted at 19 years old, combined with his immediate impact in the league, Doncic has set an all-time pace for career stats with his superb play. In his 6th season, Doncic has put himself on pace with a pantheon of the NBA's greatest players of all-time.

Before Doncic turned 25 years old, he was:

  • Third-most in points (10,825): LeBron James (13,927) and Kevin Durant (12,258)
  • One of two players in NBA history with multiple 60-point games before turning 25 (2 games): Michael Jordan (2 games)
  • Second-most triple doubles (66): Oscar Robertson (89).
  • Second-most 20-point triple doubles (61)
  • Second-most 30-point triple doubles (38)
  • Second-most 40-point triple doubles (8)
  • Only player in NBA history to record a 50-point triple double under 25 years old
  • Most career 3-pointers under 25 years old (1,114 made)
  • Most games with five-or-more 3-pointers for player under 25 years old
  • Seventh-most assists (3,110): Isiah Thomas (4,064), Chris Paul (3,446), LeBron James (3,419), Magic Johnson (3,327), Trae Young (3,285) and Stephon Marbury (3,221).

Doncic's 25th birthday comes one day after he nearly snagged another 40-point triple double, missing out on the feat by one rebound. He scored 45 points, dished 14 assists and grabbed nine rebounds in the Mavericks' 121-119 loss after Max Strus sank a 59-foot heave at the buzzer.
