Ticket prices surge for Kyrie Irving's Mavs home debut at American Airlines Center

One fan told WFAA he paid $600 for his ticket to Monday night's game.

DALLAS — Mavs fans are ready for Kyrie Irving’s home debut at American Airlines Center Monday.

“We just got Kyrie jerseys,” AB Ahmed said. He and Alexia Huerta bought #2 jerseys from The Hangar in Victory Park Monday ahead of the game. “We’re excited to see him. We can get Luka jerseys anytime, but Kyrie’s kind of the new thing now.”

The pair also said they bought tickets to Monday’s Mavs- Timberwolves game before the Irving trade. Their seats were $300 each.

“We just happened to get lucky,” Ahmed said. “It’s in a really good section, but I don’t know what [tickets are] going for now. Probably triple.”

Seats to Monday’s game aren’t cheap.

“They were like $600 each,” Trenton Jardine said, of his tickets to Monday's game.

"I mean, it’s an investment. I guess, it's an investment," Tommy Calhoun said when describing the price of his tickets. "Very expensive, but it’s worth it. It’s his first home game."

Tickets are expensive if you can find them.

"I mean we're sold out and we probably sold out for this one shortly after, as soon as [the trade] was announced," David Christopherson, owner of Metro Tickets in Victory Park, said. "It's already been good, but now it's like a whole other level good."

"Basically, anyone who had a ticket for sale, the prices probably went up by 30%, maybe more," Christopherson said.

Tipoff for the Mavs-Timberwolves game is at 7:30 p.m.
