DALLAS — In addition to airing every game of the 2024 NBA Finals on our station, WFAA is also hosting a special presentation called "The Pregame" before every matchup in the series. Head here for more information.
Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving is on a roll against is former team – and not in a good way.
Irving, who left the Boston Celtics in 2019 to join the Brooklyn Nets, is on a 12-game losing streak against his former team. This includes six regular-season losses and now six playoff losses throughout his tenure with the Nets and his current team, the Dallas Mavericks.
There's theories as to why Irving can't seem to get over the hump – some even believe it is a curse.
Back in 2021, Irving famously stomped on the Lucky the Leprechaun logo at center court after he beat the Celtics in Game 4 of the Nets first round matchup of the NBA Playoffs.
Since then, it's been nothing but defeat – and maybe bad karma – when Irving has faced his former team.
So, whether it's a curse or just poor offensive performances, the Dallas Mavericks and Kyrie Irving have got to right the ship in Game 3 of the NBA Finals as they currently sit 0-2 against the Celtics.
