DALLAS — Klay Thompson will join Dirk Nowitzki and other former Dallas Mavericks in a celebrity tennis match on Saturday.
Thompson will make his second public appearance as a Dallas Maverick since his introductory press conference at the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation Tennis Classic.
Thompson won't be the only star there. He'll be joined by Mavs legends: two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash and 2011 champion J.J. Barea. Of course, Dirk will be there too.
Tennis champions Mark Knowles and CoCo Candeweghe will also line the star-studded roster. As a real wild card, Dr. Phil McGraw, known for his long-running Dr. Phil show, will also compete.
The annual celebrity match will happen Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Banner House at T Bar M. Tickets can be purchased here. Proceeds benefit the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation, a nonprofit benefitting children through programs focusing on their well-being, health and education.
The Mavs' first preseason game is Monday, Oct. 7 against the Memphis Grizzlies and they open the regular season against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, Oct. 24.
