DALLAS — Thousands of Dallas Mavericks fans will be heading to the American Airlines Center (AAC) to watch Games 3 or 4 of the NBA Finals, and that means parking will be a tight fit for ticket holders.
For those who plan on driving to the game, it will cost you anywhere from $5 to $200 per spot, depending on how far you want to walk.
The official homepage for the Mavs lists four links under its tickets section for parking options near the AAC. It also states there are over 5,000 parking spots (within a two-block radius) available for fans who are planning on watching the game in the downtown arena.
More than 3,000 spots are also available through nearby commercial lots and private garages located within a mile of ACC.
One of the cheapest parking options might be the Inspiration lot. Located on the other side of IH-35E, it's about a third of a mile walk to the arena.
For those who prefer garage parking but don't want to pay steep Lexus Garage prices, 1920 McKinney Ave. is about half a mile away from ACC and offers some spaces for nine dollars.
Ongoing construction for new developments and reconstruction/remodeling of older buildings in Victory Park hasn’t always made things easy when it comes to navigating the entertainment epicenter of Dallas.
The ACC urges ticket holders to check alternate routes provided on the arena’s website, as nearby construction could impact your commute. Dallas Police will direct traffic at the ACC during Games 3 and 4, June 12 and 14, when the Mavericks play at home.
American Airlines Center Parking Restrictions:
- Parking is allowed in the lots two hours before and after events, but overnight parking and re-entry are not allowed.
- Grilling, open flames, food preparation, and alcohol consumption are prohibited in all parking areas.
- Disabled parking spots can be found in Lot F and the Lexus Garage and require a prepaid pass or cash payment.
- Vehicles must display a disabled parking placard or license plate. Parking rates in these areas vary depending on the event and location.
Public transportation will be provided by DART and TRE for both home games and might be an easier and more affordable option for some.
