DALLAS — Wednesday, the Dallas Mavericks announced their NBA 2K25 Summer League roster.

The team is made up of professional players looking to make an NBA roster and recent draft picks like 2023's 24th pick Olivier-Maxence Prosper and Melvin Ajinca.

Notably missing from the Summer League roster is Derrick Lively II, who is entering his second year with the Mavs. With the team making the NBA Finals, they likely prefer the 7-footer to rest heading into his sophomore season.

The team will be coached by NBA champion and Mavs assistant coach Jared Dudley. Dudley played for eight different teams from 2008-2021, finishing his career as a champion with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Mavericks will be going against some strong young talent in their schedule.

In their first game against Utah, the Mavs will deal with two challenging bigs: Walker Kessler and 2024 NBA Draft pick Kyle Filipowskii.

The height disadvantage continues against the Memphis Grizzlies, who drafted 7'4" center Zach Edey with the 9th pick. Memphis also has Scotty Pippen Jr., son of Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, who played real NBA minutes last year due to an injury-plagued season for the Grizzlies.

The Mavs will be on a more even playing field against Miami and Boston. Both teams have established veteran rosters, so they will mostly be composed of players from their respective NBA G League teams.

The NBA 2K25 Summer League runs from July 12 to 22 in Las Vegas. Games will be split across three venues: Thomas & Mack Center, Cox Pavilion and the UNLV campus. 76 games will be played over 11 days between all 30 NBA teams.
