Get your bids in: Rangers replica World Series rings hit eBay, and the prices are spiking

The first 15,000 fans received a replica Corey Seager World Series ring, prompting some fans to camp outside the ballpark.

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers might be scuffling, but the buzz from the club's World Series victory last season hasn't waned much. That was evidenced in Tuesday night's free giveaway at Globe Life Field.

The first 15,000 fans received a replica Corey Seager World Series ring, prompting some fans to camp outside the ballpark all day long in order to ensure they'd get one upon entry. In fact, fan demand for the replica ring was high enough that the Rangers decided to increase the number of rings they're giving away this year. For the remaining three giveaways, the first 29,000 fans will receive a replica ring, up from 15,000. Giveaways are on the schedule for Adolis Garcia rings on July 23, Nathan Eovaldi rings on Aug. 15 and a mystery player ring on Sept. 22.

And we have to say, these don't look like a cheap plastic knock-off.

The ring appears almost identical to the one received by the players, down to the specific engravings, and it also comes with a cool display stand, too.

So it wasn't entirely surprising that when fans received the free rings Tuesday night, a few them immediately were listed on eBay.

And the bids were rolling in.

By Tuesday night, one listing had 39 bids up to $280, with the auction scheduled to end Wednesday night. Others were well into the $100s, and "buy it now" listings were in the $150-$250 range.

Then were several others who were shooting their shot, listing the giveaway ring in the upper hundreds and above.

Hey, strike while the iron is hot.
