World Series reactions: Former presidents, rock stars, local icons, Dallas sports teams congratulate Rangers on big win

Social media lit up with applause for the Rangers on Wednesday night -- from President George W. Bush, Creed and Dirk Nowitzki to the Dallas Cowboys and DFW Airport.

ARLINGTON, Texas β€” After waiting 51 years for a title, the celebration is surely to be Texas-sized.

The Rangers clinched their first World Series title in franchise history, making them the fourth DFW sports team to win a title. DFW joined Boston and Los Angeles as the only markets to win a MLB, NBA NHL and NFL championship since 1995.

The celebration – both in the locker room and on social media – were legendary. Here's a look at the reaction to the Rangers championship:

Former President George W. Bush: "As a Texas Rangers fan, I am thrilled for Texas Rangers fans tonight. I congratulate the owners, the managers and coaching staff, the front office, and the entire organization. And of course, I congratulate the players of this awesome team on winning the first World Series in our club's history. This was baseball at its finest, and Laura and I are proud of this team."
