'The vibes are wild right now' | Texas Rangers mariachi band covers Creed's 'Higher' and everyone loved it

The vibes at the Rangers-Mets game on Monday night were ... "Higher."

ARLINGTON, Texas — Just when you thought the vibes couldn't get any "Higher" in DFW, we delivered yet another viral moment.

The latest anthem for DFW sports fans got some new flavor on Monday night's game against the New York Mets. You may remember the resurgence of Creed's "Higher" during the Texas Rangers World Series run. It's been blasting at basically every Dallas sporting event ever since. WFAA also introduced you to Mariachi de los Texas Rangers in 2022, the MLB's first and only team mariachi band.

Well, merge those two things together and you capture the essence of this viral video from Monday night's game.

The team's mariachi band played their own rendition of the song, and the video has garnered millions of views online.

So much for "zero cultural relevance," am I right?!

One Saturday a month during baseball season, this team of eight musicians comes together from all over the state. Half of them are from the DFW area. They start the day by hyping up the crowd at an event called Viva Tejas, right outside the stadium before the game. It’s a way to recognize and empower the Hispanic community.

For 16 games a season, they head inside the stadium and give Rangers fans a mariachi experience. And now, we know they even have Creed in their rolodex.

If the view count wasn't enough proof, the reaction to the mariachi version of "Higher" was a hit.
