ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers appear to be set for the 2024 season, barring any last-minute free agent signings heading into spring training. (Yes, Jordan Montgomery is still available).
That's after a key contract update announced Thursday: Star outfielder Adolis Garcia reached a new two-year deal with the club that will pay him a guaranteed total of $14 million, with incentives for more.
In 2024, Garcia will actually make $4,750,000, then the remaining $9,250,000 in 2025.
So you might be wondering ... how does Garcia's salary compare to his teammates? It certainly gives him a considerable pay raise, as last year he was making in the $700,000 range, which is closer to the league minimum.
But $4.75 million is also a long way from the top salaries in baseball, including several players on the Rangers.
