Parking at a Rangers game this season? Pay with your phone or a credit card

Fans attending Texas Rangers home games this season will be able to pay for parking using Apple Pay or Android Pay on their mobile device.

Parking your car at Globe Life Park will be a cutting-edge experience in 2017.

Fans attending Texas Rangers home games this season will be able to pay for parking using Apple Pay or Android Pay on their mobile device. The Rangers are the first MLB team to offer the payment method at their stadium.

The new feature is thanks to a three-year partnership with ParkHub, a Dallas-based company that aims at streamlining the parking experience for large crowds at event venues.

ParkHub also allows fans to pre-purchase parking at Globe Life Park or pay with a credit card through its mobile point of sale, called Prime. The company claims a parking attendant can swipe one’s credit card and have a receipt printed out and placed on the dashboard in less than five seconds.

“When you come to the ballpark, parking is the first thing you experience,” Rangers Vice President of Business Operations Rob Matwick said. “We want that to be a great experience from the time you pull into the lot, get out of your car and head over to the ballpark.”

American Airlines Center and AT&T Stadium are both ParkHub clients, along with several pro sports venues across the country.

Rangers fans will also have new options on where to park, as the Rangers have opened new lots to the south and to the east of the stadium.

• Lot R, located south of the ballpark on Stadium Drive between Cowboys Way and Sanford Street, is a brand new lot that contains 2,000 parking spaces.

• Lot S, to the east, adds 625 spaces.

• Lot J, behind the first base side of the stadium, was resurfaced to include 300 additional spaces.

Parking changes were spurred by the construction of Texas Live!, the entertainment district being built adjacent to Globe Life Park. The new, domed stadium will eventually be built in lots A and B.
