Adolis Garcia has swaggered and flexed his way to a new Texas Rangers playoff RBI record

Garcia added five more RBIs on two home runs and four total hits, which gave him 20 for this postseason, the most RBIs before the World Series in MLB history.

HOUSTON — El Bombi has "bombed" his way into the Texas Rangers record books.

In the top of the third inning of Game 7 of the ALCS, Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia continued his momentum from Game 6 and hit another home run -- this time to right field.

The homer represented his 17th RBI of the postseason. With that RBI, Garcia passed Nelson Cruz's output in 2011 for the most RBIs in a single postseason in Rangers history. That RBI also marked his 12th in the ALCS versus the Astros, which was the second-most runs batted in all-time by any MLB player in a League Championship Series. (Cruz held that record with 13 in the 2011 ALCS vs. Detroit).

True to form, Garcia walked off the homer with swagger, hyping up his teammates in the dugout as he trotted the bases.

In his next at bat in the top of the fourth inning, Garcia added two more RBIs to his total, making it 19 for the postseason and 14 for this ALCS alone.

In the top of the 8th, Garcia added another solo shot to his resume, which upped his postseason RBI total to 20 and gave him the most RBIs before the World Series in MLB history.

The Game 7 homer came after Garcia shut the door on the Astros in Game 6 with a statement grand slam in the top of the 9th inning, which gave Texas a 9-2 lead. Garcia had struck out in every at bat prior to the grand slam, followed by roars and applause from the Astros faithful.

After his grand slam in Game 6 and home run in Game 7, however, those roars got real quiet.

The Rangers will next face the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 World Series.

The D-backs won their own win-and-you're-in Game 7 over the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLCS on Tuesday night to make the fall classic matchup official.
