DALLAS — Former Dallas Cowboys safety Darren Woodson has been named a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024.
This is familiar territory as this is Woodson's second time being a finalist and his eighth time being a semi-finalist, with his first coming in 2015.
Woodson spent his entire career with the Cowboys, setting the record for most tackles in franchise history in 2002. He was also selected to five Pro Bowls and four All-Pro teams and won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys.
Then, in November 2015, Woodson was inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor.
Woodson was previously a semifinalist in 2015, 2017, and every year from 2019 through 2023.
The Class of 2024 features 15 finalists, with six players making this stage for the first time.
The 15 finalists will be trimmed to 10 and then five during the selection meeting early next year. The final five candidates will need to get 80% of the votes from the panel to get into the Hall.
The class of 2024 will be announced at the NFL Honors show on Feb. 8 in Las Vegas.
