OMAHA, Neb. — As we reach the last stages of the College World Series (CWS), four teams are still fighting for a spot in the Finals: Florida State, Tennessee, Florida and Texas A&M.

The Aggies, who posted a 51-13 overall record on their way to the CWS, are getting prepped to face Florida on Wednesday night. If the Aggies win, they will head to the finals for the first time in program history.

Texas A&M is also the final Texas team alive in the double-elimination tournament, which gives them an opportunity to be the first school to bring hardware back to the Lone Star State in nearly two decades.

When was the last time a Texas team won the College World Series?

The Texas Longhorns were the last collegiate team from Texas to win the College World Series back in 2005.

That year, the Longhorns went undefeated in CWS play, defeating Florida 6-2 in the finals. And prior to that, the Rice Owls won it against Stanford in 2003.

Today, the Aggies are just three wins away from bringing championship baseball back to Texas for the first time in 19 seasons.

Either way, the Southeastern Conference -- who has claimed the last four titles -- will most likely continue their reign over college baseball as 75% of the remaining teams belong to the conference.

Texas A&M will play Florida at 6 p.m. Wednesday night on ESPN.
