DALLAS — Despite it being the offseason for NFL football, the Dallas Cowboys and their players just can't seem to keep themselves out of the spotlight during the NBA and NHL playoffs.
It's been a popular trend for Cowboys players to attend both Mavs and Stars games as the two teams battle it out in their respective conference series.
On Tuesday night, Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons attended Game 4 of the Mavs-Timberwolves series at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Following a disappointing loss for the Mavs, the Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards made sure to boast his confidence in the potential for a Game 6, back in Dallas.
"What am I supposed to say? I'm supposed to say -- we're gonna lose Game 5? No, I'm not gonna never say that," Edwards said in a press conference when asked about his confidence.
Then, Edwards made a quick jab at Parsons for wearing one of his signature basketball shoes to the game.
"Micah Parsons -- you know, he was rocking the AE 1s and I told him he wear a size 14. I'll bring him back some nice shoes for Game 6," Edwards said.
Many are taking this playful joke as a chance to pile on Parsons for his history of supporting other teams outside of the Mavericks.
However, Parsons is just a small part of the reason the Cowboys are continuing to make headlines this offseason.
The success that the Stars, Mavs and Rangers have brought to the city of Dallas has just further exposed the point that the Cowboys have not reached a conference championship in 29 years.
The Cowboys faithful can only hope -- and tell their friends -- that this is the year that things change.
