ALLEN, Texas — The District 6-6A title will be on the line on Friday night at Allen's Eagle Stadium when Prosper and Allen square off in a Top-15 battle in the 6A ranks. The two preeminent programs in the district for the last several years will go head-to-head for the seventh straight season, looking to break a 3-3 tie in the series.
And for Allen, they'll be looking to beat Prosper for the first time since 2020.
You can watch the game live on our streaming platform WFAA+, which is available on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. You can also watch the game right here on WFAA.com, or our WFAA YouTube channel.
Each of the last four times these teams have played, the game has been decided by one score.
In 2023, Prosper won a one-point nailbiter, 37-36. When Prosper beat Allen 28-23 in 2021, it was the first time Allen had lost a district game since 2010, snapping a 72-game winning streak. Now, it's Prosper that comes in with a district winning streak — 18 straight wins against district foes, dating back to early in the 2022 season.
Allen is led by senior quarterback Brady Bricker, a second-year starter who has opened up the potential of the Allen offense this year with his ability to push the ball down the field. He has 15 touchdown passes on the year and just three interceptions. He's also run for three scores. Bricker teams up with a multi-faceted run game to pace an Eagles offense that averages 52 points per game. Lyndon Spriggs, Jayden Hambric, and Micah Ellis all can run the ball well for Allen's offense.
Prosper has a well-balanced offense led by Braeden Imhoff, who has thrown for 20 touchdowns on the year and nearly 1,800 yards. Lathan Latiolais, Dallas Boozer, and Jayden Beasley are all prime targets for Imhoff, in a Prosper offense that averages 40 points a night. Senior running back Leo Anguiano paces the Prosper run game, with 538 yards and 6 touchdowns on the year.
The Allen defense will have their hands full with the Prosper offensive line — they feature five starters who all hold Power Conference scholarship offers. But defensive end Joshua Shaw, linebackers Ja'Prei Wafer and Mitchell Neu and the rest of the Allen front six plan to make life difficult for the Prosper running game. Henson Ameachi quarterbacks the Allen secondary, in the Eagles 4-2-5 set.
The Prosper defense features nose guard Jake Johnson in the middle of it all, wrecking run games of opponents regularly. Linebackers Cade Smallwood and Tayvin Labbe run sideline to sideline, and Blake Summers and DK Jamison lead the Prosper secondary. Prosper gives up just 64.7 rushing yards per game this season, which ranks them second in the area in 6A.
