DALLAS — Parish Episcopal continued a dynastic run in the TAPPS Division I on Friday, claiming the program's fifth state championship in a row.
The Panthers defeated Houston St. Thomas at Waco ISD Stadium, 40-29. But the Panthers had to claw back in the second half to secure the win. Parish Episcopal trailed the Eagles at one point in the third quarter, 22-19, after Donte Lewis connected with Luke Edgecomb for a touchdown.
But the Panthers responded to that score with three straight scoring drives of their own, including a 16-yard touchdown run by running back Maddux Reid. Reid had four total touchdowns in the game.
