Friday Night Football: Pivotal district clash between Everman and Mansfield Summit to be broadcast on WFAA+

This matchup is set up to a battle of strength on strength as the Everman Bulldogs' running game clashes with the Mansfield Summit Jaguars' defensive front

MANSFIELD, Texas — Two of the top 5A-Division II programs in North Texas will square off on Friday night -- with a playoff positioning on the line -- as the Everman Bulldogs visit the Mansfield Summit Jaguars at 7 p.m.

You can watch the game live on our streaming platform WFAA+. WFAA+ is available on Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV.

You can also watch the game right here on WFAA.com, or on our WFAA YouTube channel.

Tune in, and you can expect to see a heavyweight clash of strength on strength.

The Everman Bulldogs running game is stout, led by a veteran and talented offensive line, as well as a stud running back in Kay'den Brooks. Brooks has run for over 100 yards in every game this season, and has eclipsed the 200-yard mark in each of his last two games. Through seven games, Brooks has 1,096 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.

But Brooks and his offensive line will have to deal with a Summit defensive front that is big and talented, and features multiple Division I talents. Kyland Reed is the leader of the Jaguars defensive unit. The Baylor commit, who has returned from a torn ACL back in June of 2022, is a high-level linebacker who will make his presence felt all over the field. Defensive tackle Legend Journey and defensive end Maruio White also make a huge impact up front, helping to slow down opposing offenses.

Meanwhile, when Summit has the football, they'll try to utilize a stable of running backs to develop a ground attack of their own. Amare Burgess leads the charge there as the Jaguars featured back, but he's just one of five backs that Summit will give the ball to through the night.

Everman's defense counters with a unit led by defensive end Nolan Oliver and star freshman Neiman Page.

Our broadcast will begin with the pregame show at 6:50, followed by kickoff at 7pm.
