IRVING, Texas — On Friday night, tickets will be punched across the state to the regional quarterfinals of the UIL State basketball playoffs. And in Irving, at Ranchview High School, that ticket will be punched for either South Oak Cliff or Frisco Heritage.

WFAA will broadcast Friday night's game on WFAA+, WFAA.com, and the WFAA YouTube channel. Tip-off is at 7 p.m., and the pregame show will begin at around 6:50 p.m.

Frisco Heritage comes in as the district champions out of District 10-5A, after a 12-2 campaign. Heritage won their district title on the strength of a Caleb Miller buzzer-beater against Frisco Memorial. They then won their first playoff game on another buzzer-beater, as Cameron Lomax buried a half-court runner as time expired to give the Coyotes a 59-56 win over Frisco Reedy in the bi-district round.

South Oak Cliff comes in as the 20th-ranked team in the state in 5A, according to the official TABC Hoops rankings. SOC advanced to the area round with a 51-47 win over Mesquite Poteet on Tuesday. The Golden Bears have posted some very impressive results through the season, including a 19-point win over highly-ranked W.T. White on Jan. 19.

The winner of Friday night's game will face the winner of Frisco Lone Star vs. Kimball in the third round of the 5A playoffs.
