DALLAS — The Dallas South Oak Cliff vs. Samuell football game on Thursday night was canceled due to "ineligible players" on the Samuell High School varsity football team, Dallas Independent School District officials announced.

"We are ensuring strict compliance with UIL guidelines and will not tolerate actions that compromise the integrity of our athletic programs," the district said in a statement. "Dallas ISD is committed to addressing this matter in full transparency and will take the necessary actions to protect the interests of our students and community.”

UIL said in a statement it is aware of the local investigation into alleged rules violations by Samuell and has been in contact with Dallas ISD and the local district executive committee.

"At this time, UIL has not received a report of findings or action taken by the DEC," the statement reads.

The game will not be rescheduled.

The game was scheduled to be played at Kincaide Stadium.

South Oak Cliff will wrap up the regular season next week against Thomas Jefferson. Samuell is scheduled to play Spruce.
