Scottie Scheffler stops by iconic Dallas dive bar after getting home from the Masters

Scheffler at some point Sunday night (early Monday morning?) hit up Inwood Tavern, the longtime Dallas bar off Lovers Lane and Inwood Road.

DALLAS β€” Scottie Scheffler spent one of his last weekend nights before parenthood at an iconic Dallas dive bar.

He just happened to be wearing a green jacket.

Scheffler at some point Sunday night -- or maybe early Monday morning? -- hit up Inwood Tavern, the longtime Dallas bar off Lovers Lane and Inwood Road, where Sharpie signatures and graffiti cover the walls.

The location and the setting were a good distance from where Scheffler was just a few hours earlier, winning his second Masters title at the prestigious Augusta National Golf Club.

The Dallas resident held off a crowded leaderboard and then turned on the jets on the back nine. His final score of 11-under was four shots clear of runner-up Ludvig Aberg.

Scheffler apparently accepted his green jacket and trophy, sat down for a press conference and then hopped on a jet back to Dallas. Then, sometime before its 2 a.m. closing time, he made his way to Inwood Tavern, wearing the same peach Nike shirt and blue pants he wore in the final round at Augusta this year. Oh, and he was still wearing that famed green jacket, too.

Scheffler, whose wife Meredith is due with their first child any day now, plays the everyman role well. The only problem is his golf game is anything but everyman.

Scheffler has held the No. 1. ranking in the world for the last 48 weeks, and he's won three times in the last month -- The Masters on Sunday, The Players on March 17 and the Arnold Palmer Invitational on March 10.

He'll look to add another major at the PGA Championship, which begins May 16 at Valhalla Golf Course in Louisville, Ky.
