DUNCANVILLE, Texas — North Texas will be represented in this year's coveted McDonald's All-American Game.

Duncanville High School star forward Ron Holland was named to the West team when rosters were announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Holland is currently No. 5 on ESPN's Top 100 recruits list for 2023. He is also the top power forward on that list.

The 6-foot-8-inch forward has already signed to play at the University of Texas at Austin after he graduates this year.

Holland will be teaming up with fellow top high school players, including No. 3 recruit Isaiah Collier from Georgia and even Bronny James, LeBron James' son, out of Los Angeles.

The 2023 McDonald's All-American Game is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 28, at the Toyota Center in Houston.

While Holland will be able to finish his high school basketball career as an All-American, his team, however, will finish its season before the playoffs begin.

The Duncanville boys basketball team opted out of postseason play for the 2022-2023 season after the University Interscholastic League (UIL) stripped the group of its 2022 Class 6A state championship and placed the team on three years probation.

The punishment came in November 2022 after the UIL ruled Duncanville had an ineligible player.

While Duncanville won't be in the playoffs, ESPN has the boys team ranked No. 4 in the nation for the week of Jan. 23, 2023.
