ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit and his dog Ben watch players warm up before the start of an NCAA college football game between Tennessee and Arkansas.

DALLAS — While you're watching College GameDay live from Eugene, Ore. on Saturday, you'll notice one of the main contributors will be missing for part of the show.

Kirk Herbstreit, one of the show's longstanding contributors, will need to leave an hour early in order to catch a flight to Dallas. Herbstreit is on the call alongside Chris Fowler for the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, which is set to kickoff at 2:30 p.m. instead of its typical 11 a.m. time for the first time since 2017

College GameDay airs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. CT, and the flight from Eugene to Dallas is approximately three hours and 40 minutes. With the Red River Rivalry kicking off at 2:30 p.m. CT, there's no way Herbstreit could stay for the entire show and make it in time.

Surely, he'll get a police escort which will help cut down time on traffic to the Eugene airport, as well as from whichever airport in Dallas he lands in to Fair Park.

Herbstreit mentioned in an Instagram video after calling the Tennessee-Arkansas game last week that he'd be leaving the Oregon show early in order to fly to Dallas.

“Ironically, Chris [Fowler], I’m leaving GameDay like an hour early, in the middle of the show," Herbstreit said. "I’m going to have to make it, because our OU-Texas game starts at 3:30. So I’m going to leave GameDay and hopefully make it.”
