DALLAS — A woman trying to cross Interstate 35E was killed when she was struck by a vehicle early Monday.
Officers were called shortly after 4 a.m. to the northbound lanes of I-35E and Inwood Road. Deputies recovered the body of a 23-year-old woman near the Medical District Drive exit, according to the Dallas County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies said she had been hit by a vehicle, but the driver fled the scene.
Earlier, the woman had been with a friend at the Marriott Suites Hotel when they got into an argument. She ran out of the hotel and crossed the highway. She tried to cross a third time but was struck and killed, authorities said.
Her identity hasn't been released at this time.
Officials have not released a vehicle description.
