Three arrested for robbery-turned-murder in Irving

Police have arrested three men for capital murder after they shot and killed a 22-year-old in a robbery on Saturday.

IRVING -- Police have arrested three men for capital murder after they shot and killed a 22-year-old in a robbery on Saturday.

Officers responded to the 300 block of W. Cason Street on a shooting call at 11:10 p.m., and when they arrived, they found Jared Andrew Thomas suffering from a gunshot wound. Thomas was transported to Parkland Hospital, but did not survive.

A female acquaintance who was with Thomas said he was was shot during an attempted robbery. Investigators discovered the woman and Thomas were in the area to buy drugs when the suspects attempted to rob them over a past griecance.

Thomas fought with one of the suspects during the robbery attempt and was shot.

Irving police identified and arrested three suspects in the robbery and murder, including 24-year-old Paul Alvear, 21-year-old Larry Adam Guerra, and 22-year-old Juan Antonio Rico.

All three are being held indefinitely in the Irving Jail on capital murder charges.
