DALLAS – After four long months, the first bit of activity involving Blue Bell was seen at a distribution center in Alvin, Texas, south of Houston.
"The delivery trucks, they bring 'em outside, line 'em up outside yesterday afternoon -- all the delivery trucks were outside," said Rodolfo Ramirez, who lives across the street from the plant.
So close, yet so far.
News sources have also confirmed a distribution center in Austin got a truck-load. Blue Bell can only confirm the ice cream on those trucks came from a plant in Alabama.
Oraldo Guerrero knows it's definitely not in his store, Josie's Ice Cream, here in Dallas. He tells News 8 that his customers keep asking about Blue Bell.
"They want Blue Bell to come back," he said.
Guerrero's contract with Blue Bell has lasted 20 years. These last few months, he's had to serve something else.
"I made a call a month ago. They said 'Yes, we're going to come back. But we don't know when,'" he said.
It's still unclear when Blue Bell ice cream will hit the shelves. Estimates range from a month, up to the end of the year.
