A Sam’s Club concept coming to Dallas’ Lower Greenville neighborhood is so new, it hasn’t been named yet.

But what the retailer has divulged is that the 32,000-square-foot shop, to be located at the corner of Greenville and Richmond avenues, “will be home to a unique club with an offering focused on
convenience for the local community.”

According to a blog posted by Walmart (NYSE: WMT), the store will be membership-based, like all Sam’s Clubs, but offer an easier and more tech-savvy shopping experience with features like fast membership sign ups, self-serve returns, Scan-and-Go checkout and digital signage.

In addition to the size difference – a typical Sam’s encompasses 100,000 to 150,000 square feet – the concept will differ from traditional Sam’s stores by offering more grocery and fresh food items,
including grab-and-go meals.

The company said the location will stock between 1,000 and 2,000 items, compared to the roughly 6,000 products usually stocked in Sam’s Clubs. Same-day pickup and delivery options will also be offered.

Walmart has submitted plans for the store to the city of Dallas and is aiming to open the site by this fall. It is expected to create 30 to 40 jobs.

The store was formerly occupied by a Walmart Neighborhood Market, which shut down in January 2016.

“We know this site has been a subject of conversation over the years, and we are committed to being a good neighbor,” Walmart said on its blog. “We’ve begun discussing the location with the Lower Greenville Neighborhood Association, and we believe this will be a great use for this facility in this exciting part of town.”

Walmart also announced in April that it plans to invest roughly $277 million across Texas over the next year as it opens and remodels stores and rolls out in-store and online innovations. Included in the retail giant’s Texas investment will be a new store in Fort Worth and remodels to 18 Dallas-Fort Worth locations.
