DALLAS — A security guard faces a murder charge after fatally shooting a man at a Dallas apartment complex on Sunday night, police said.
Vincent Hobbs, 32, and other security guards had responded about 10:30 p.m. to a unit at the Oasis Apartments in the 2700 block of East Ledbetter Drive, in east Oak Cliff.
The victim had been in an "altercation" with another security guard about 30 minutes earlier, according to a police news release.
When the other security guards responded, they entered the apartment and confronted the victim. A physical altercation ensued and ended up outside on the upstairs breezeway.
As the security guards tried to subdue the victim, Hobbs shot the man in the chest, police said. The victim, who hasn't been identified yet, was taken to Baylor Hospital, where he died.
Hobbs was arrested on the murder charge and taken to jail.
