NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — State Rep. Stephanie Klick, a Republican incumbent from North Richland Hills and a nurse who authored the state’s medical marijuana laws, is fighting for her political life in this May runoff.
Klick fell just short of getting 50% of the vote in March. She won 48% of the vote. Fellow Republican David Lowe earned 46% of it.
Klick, at one point the Majority Leader of the Texas House’s GOP Caucus, has served as a State Representative since 2013.
The winner of this primary will effectively win the seat, as they will face no Democratic opponent in the November election.
