DALLAS COUNTY, Texas — The Texas House District 108 race in Dallas county features another Democrat looking to unseat a Republican who has held the office for nearly a decade.
This time around, Republican State Rep. Morgan Meyer is facing Democrat Elizabeth Ginsberg, who last challenged Meyer in 2022.
Meyer has held his office since being elected in 2014. Since then, Democrats have tried numerous times to unseat Meyer, and have come close, but have yet to succeed. The closest Democrats came was in 2018, when Meyer won with 50.1% of the vote, just 0.2% ahead of his Democratic challenger.
When Ginsberg last challenged Meyer two years ago, Meyer won decisively with 56.4% of the vote, nearly 13% more than Ginsberg.
Texas House District 108 comprises the Park Cities in Dallas -- Highland Park and University Park.
Meyer is running on providing property tax relief and other adjustments to taxation, like removing the sales and use tax from feminine hygiene products and abolishing the wealth tax.
Ginsberg is running on reforming gun laws, including establishing red flag laws and limiting the sale of military weaponry. She is also running to restore access to reproductive care and abortion; and on addressing climate change.
