A Union Pacific train derailed in Denton County on Wendesday morning, sending several cars into the backyards of homes along the tracks in Aubrey.
No one was injured.
The derailment happened about 9:30 a.m. near Pecan and Main streets in Aubrey, according to Union Pacific. The northbound locomotive and six cars derailed but remained upright. Seven other railcars overturned, according to Union Pacific.
Officials were still investigating the cause of the derailment. Union Pacific was still working to clear the derailed cars on Wednesday morning.
