WASHINGTON — Former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce was involved in an incident with a college football fan outside of Penn State's Beaver Stadium Saturday.
Videos shared on social media showed Kelce holding a case of beer while walking through a crowd. Many fans came up to Kelce, who was in town for the game between Penn State and Ohio State, asking for selfies and fist bumps.
In one video, an unruly fan is heard using a homophobic slur to describe his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his relationship with Taylor Swift.
Kelce is then seen turning around, grabbing the fan's phone and smashing it into the ground.
In another video, the former Eagles' center appears to walk away with the phone, prompting the fan to chase after him. The person, who was wearing a Penn State hoodie, is seen shouting at the former Eagles player to "give me my phone."
Kelce then appears to repeat the slur back to the person.
It's unclear what happened after the altercation and whether the heckling fan who said the slur was the same person whose phone was smashed.
Kelce appeared on ESPN's "College GameDay" earlier on Saturday ahead of the game. The Buckeyes won against Penn State with a 20-13 victory.
ESPN did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The recently retired Philadelphia Eagles' player could address the situation on an episode of "New Heights," which he co-hosts with his brother Travis.
Kelce played for the Philadelphia Eagles for 13 years and is now an analyst for ESPN's “Monday Night Countdown.” The Kelce brothers also recently inked a blockbuster deal with Amazon's Wondery for their podcast.
