This likable sitcom concludes its six-season run with two episodes, the first directed by star Melissa McCarthy, the second by the legendary James Burrows. What began as a romantic comedy about two people struggling with their weight (a normal occurrence that, inexplicably enough, provoked some blowback) has grown into a show about two people, period, and their friends and extended family. It exits with a very sweet outing built around Mike and Molly’s desire to start a family of their own, and takes with it a cast — led by McCarthy and Billy Gardell and including Swoosie Kurtz, Katy Mixon, Reno Wilson, Nyambi Nyambi, Rondi Reed and Louis Mustillo — that will be much missed.
Jane the Virgin
CW, 9 ET/PT
Happily, we only have to say goodbye to Jane for the summer. So when the show returns in the fall, will Jane be married to Michael? You’ll find out in a finale that also promises a bit of news from Xo.
Castle
ABC, 10 ET/PT
As you probably know, Castle is not coming back next season, which makes the planned departure of star Stana Katic moot. But that still leaves open the question of how her character, Kate Beckett, makes her exit — or even if she does, as the show had an alternate ending planned in case it wasn't renewed.
