ARLINGTON -- Officers arrested 27-year-old Keith Haynes on Wednesday night at his apartment in Plano and charged him with capital murder for shooting 25-year-old Kenishia Walker, killing her and her unborn baby.
Cellphone records, including a text from the victim with instructions on what to do if she turned up dead, helped Arlington police make the arrest.
According to an arrest warrant, Haynes was believed to be the father of Walker’s unborn child and the two were previously in a relationship with each other. However, Haynes is currently in a relationship with another woman and police said he claimed that woman is also pregnant.

From talking with friends and family and observing text message records, police indicated Haynes and Walker disagreed and had argued about the future and their relationship once the baby was born. The warrant says Walker sent a text to a friend on March 30 with the message, “If I ever come up dead please show the police this and other screenshots.”
Police said the texts also show Haynes planned to meet Walker shortly before she was killed. In the warrant, Walker’s young son found her dead on the morning of April 14 and told police Haynes stayed the night at their home on Ridge Run Road that night.
Haynes allowed officers to interview him before his arrest because he said he wanted to clear his name.
