Ray Braswell High School in Little Elm was under a lockdown that began at 8:57 and ended at 9:45 Tuesday morning after police determined the information they received was false, Denton ISD officials and Little Elm police said.
The lockdown, a standard procedure in situations like this, was put into effect after the Little Elm Police Department received a phone call that claimed two people may have had weapons on the high school campus.
Little Elm Police and other law enforcement agencies were on the scene.
While investigating, police determined the call they received had false information and ended the lockdown.
The students in question were identified, detained, and searched, and no weapons were found, police said. Police also reviews video footage that proved the students did not have firearms on campus.
Navo Middle School, Bell Elementary School and Paloma Creek Elementary School were also placed on lockdown because of their proximity to Braswell High School.
"We applaud the response of our students and staff on the Braswell High, Bell Elementary, Navo Middle and Paloma Creek campuses as they followed our Emergency Response Plan and protocols," Denton ISD director of communications Julie Zwahr said.
Little Elm police confirmed on Facebook the lockdown was over. They are continuing to investigate the situation.
Parents were lined up outside the high school to pick up their children after the lockdown was over. One woman, Katia Mervel, wrote in a Facebook message to WFAA that she was in line to pick up two children at the school.
Mervel said the Little Elm police were handing out tickets to parents to use to wait in the school's auditorium to pick up their children.
