Woman struck and killed by DART train in South Dallas

Rush hour service on DART's Green Line light rail service was interrupted Tuesday evening after a pedestrian was struck by a train.

DALLAS Rush hour service on DART's Green Line light rail service was interrupted Tuesday evening after a pedestrian was struck by a train.

According to initial information, a woman was walking on the tracks in a prohibited area near Scyene Road and 2nd Avenue in South Dallas around 5:30 p.m. and stopped just before she was hit by the northbound train.

The woman's identity was not available.

DART provided buses to shuttle passengers between the MLK and Hatcher stations while the incident remained under investigation.

Green Line service was restored around 8 p.m.
