WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — Police in White Settlement arrested a man on multiple charges after they said he threatened a victim and was at their front door with three guns Sunday.

Steven Silva, 29, faces charges of unlawfully carrying a weapon, terroristic threat and possession of a controlled substance, according to a news release from White Settlement police.

Police released bodycam footage of officers arresting Silva, who was allegedly outside the apartment of a victim he had threatened, the release said.

"Hands where I can see them! Get down on your knees!" a responding officer could be heard saying on the footage. "Face down! Don't move!"

Silva complied and was taken into custody without incident.

White Settlement police Chief Christopher Cook said investigators believed that Silva "was going to kill the victim and then take his own life based upon the situation and social media posts uncovered."

The incident started shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday, when officers were called to the 9200 block of Dale Lane.

A "frantic caller" claimed a man was going to shoot him over a "personal issue related to a female friend," the police release said.

When officers arrived, police said, they found Silva had walked to the victim's front door with a .22-caliber rifle, a shotgun and a handgun. Officers "gave loud verbal commands" to Silva to lay down and not touch the weapons, and he complied, police said.

“This could have had a very tragic outcome had officers arrived 30 seconds later,” Cook said. "I am grateful for our swift and quick response along with the compliance of the suspect.”
