LIST: Where you can recycle your Christmas tree in North Texas

Now that Christmas Day has passed, it's time to think about what you'll do with that tree.

DALLAS — Christmas Day has come and passed, and hopefully you enjoyed your holiday!

Now it's time to think about what you'll be doing with that Christmas tree sitting in your home, especially if you want to be environmentally friendly.

Below are a list of places where you can take your tree to be recycled, depending on the city you live in.

PSA: Don't forget to remove all lights, ornaments and other decorations from the tree!

Dallas

Trees can be taken to the Northwest (Bachman) Transfer Station at 9500 Harry Hines Boulevard.

Only Dallas residents may drop off at his location. Hours of operation are Monday-Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Irving

Irving residents can take part in the city's annual Christmas tree roundup. Fresh-cut trees will be collected as part of the weekly brush/bulky waste pickup from Dec. 27 to Jan. 12.

Residents may also drop off their trees at the following locations:

Bedford

In Bedford, residents can take their Christmas trees to the Meadow Park Athletic Complex at 3200 Meadow Park Drive for recycling. Free recycling will take place from Dec. 26 to Jan. 8.

North Richland Hills

North Richland Hills residents can recycle their trees at two locations in the city from Dec. 26 to Jan. 3:

  • Green Valley Park at 7701 Smithfield Road
  • BISD Plaza (parking lot on the north side) at 6351 Boulevard 26

Residents are asked to place the trees in marked dumpsters.

Arlington

There are two drop-off locations for residents in Arlington for recycling Christmas trees. The locations will run from Dec. 27 to Jan. 12.

  • Arlington Landfill at 800 Mosier Valley Road (7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday)
  • Calloway's Nursey at 4940 South Cooper Street (9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily)

Grand Prairie

Grand Prairie residents can recycle their trees at two drop-off locations from Dec. 26 to Jan. 9.

  • IKEA at 1000 IKEA Way
  • Grand Prairie Landfill at 1102 MacArthur Boulevard

Fort Worth

Residents in Fort Worth have four drop-off stations to choose from to recycle their Christmas trees

The locations are open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Southlake

Southlake residents can drop off their tree at Bicentennial Park at 450 West Southlake Boulevard.

The Christmas tree recycling program runs from Dec. 19 to Jan. 15.
