What are the rules for the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight? Here's what you need to know.

Here's a breakdown of the rules for the highly-anticipated fight between Paul and Tyson in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, Texas — The day has finally come -- whether you wanted it to or not.

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will face each other tonight at AT&T Stadium in a real sanctioned boxing match for all the world (Netflix subscribers) to see.

Now, you may be thinking: This can't be a legit fight, right?

However, it is. But, there are some stipulations aimed to make the match safer for the 58-year-old Tyson and the 27-year-old Jake Paul.

What are the rules for the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight?

The Texas Athletic Commission, which handles the sanctioning for combative sports events within the state, approved this match to go through with a few catches.

For one, the rounds are only two minutes long, as opposed to the normal three minutes, and there will only be eight of them, as opposed to 10 or 12.

While this may seem short to the viewer, fighting someone for 16 minutes still seems like a daunting task.

Another stipulation added is the glove size the fighters will use. Instead of the traditional 10-ounce gloves, Paul and Tyson will use 14-ounce gloves. This, in theory, will soften the blows and make it a bit more challenging for fighters to achieve knockouts.

Speaking of knockouts -- those are allowed. If both fighters are still standing at the end of the eight rounds, a winner will be announced.

The main card for Friday's event begins at 7 p.m. with the main event likely not starting until after 9 p.m.
