WFAA placed in a number of other categories in the National Press Photographers Association's awards.

DALLAS — This year's National Press Photographers Association Awards have been released, and WFAA once again took home a number of awards as part of this year's announcement!

Most notably, WFAA won Station of the Year honors for large-market stations, and WFAA reporter Jobin Panicker won the NPPA Photojournalism Award for Reporting.

It's WFAA's sixth overall win for Station of the year -- and fifth win in the last seven years. The station has earned this top honor in 1983, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022 and now again in 2024.

It's also Panicker's second straight year winning the NPPA Photojournalism Award for Reporting after having earned the same honors in the 2023 awards.

In addition, WFAA photojournalist Brandon Mowry took first place in the Sports Feature category for his story with Sean Giggy on a group of senior soccer players in Richardson, and reporter-photographer Kevin Reece took first place in the Daily Hard News Edit – Solo Video Photojournalist category for his story on a program for soldiers honored at a Dallas Mavericks game.
