WFAA s broadcast of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra s 2009 edition of Cheer! A Christmas Celebration will now air on the station at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The 1-hour program will feature the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Chorus and a children's choir in a spectacular concert filled with familiar Christmas music - both holiday classics and popular favorites - and a visit from Santa Claus.

ABC has scheduled an encore presentation of the animated hit, Disney s Prep & Landing on Christmas Eve beginning at 7 p.m., said Mike Devlin, WFAA president and general manager. To accommodate family viewing of this rebroadcast of the network s popular program, we were able to shift Cheer! A Christmas Celebration to 8 p.m. This change will also allow for a potentially larger audience to watch the concert, added Devlin.

Disney s Prep & Landing is ABC's first television special produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The half-hour holiday special reveals the never-before-told tale of an elite unit of Elves known as Prep and Landing. At 7:30, ABC will air the hit comedy about life with gusto in small town America, The Middle.

The DSO 2009 Christmas performances are scheduled to run through December 20 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Tickets for the live programs are available at DallasSymphony.com, or by calling DSO guest services at 214-692-0203.
WFAA is scheduled to tape the performance on December 17, and broadcast it Christmas Eve at 8 p.m.
